Religious content on facebook

From a very first day when I started going to the school, I always used to listen from my elders that Masters is the final step when studying, and that’s pretty much was my goal. I always thought Masters is the last degree, but as the time passed by and as I got mature, I realized that’s not the truth.
So I had this goal in my mind to one day do a PHD.

But as everyone know life isn’t always the same and doesn’t go as planned (in very rare cases it does).

After doing my Masters in Mass Communication from NUML things quite changed for me, I got an offer from one of the Leading Radio Station of Pakistan and a job right after your degree is a big achievement. So, I somehow forgot the goal and started my professional life.

But as time passed, I realized MPhil is something I should go for and I should not forget my goal, and here I am pursuing my goal.

Anyways when I joined the Radio, this was the time when Social media site were gaining a lot of attention and every day new websites were getting launched in the market.

Having a background of Islamic studies, I always used to read Islamic books from different authors but as you get busy with time things are left behind.

As I was hosting Islamic programs as well, I always needed a content to share with public, A friend of mine suggested me that now you can find a lot of lectures on Internet as well.

The first stop for me was Facebook and I was suggested a few pages and groups.

Now reading and learning from the content posted by those pages and sharing it with my friends and family on Facebook was a normal routine.

But one day I came around a post and I shared it and a very close friend of mine told me that this translation is not correct. It was actually written like that and corrected me.

Now me being a regular user of those pages suddenly got this feeling that what if there were mistakes in others too and what if the translation were changed by the pages admin or the one who made those posts because frankly speaking, I didn’t know any of the admins of those pages.

And there is a saying “Don’t believe everything you see on the internet”.

That was the time when I started doing research and only followed those pages whose source was legit, or run by an organization.

There are plenty of sites and apps who provide Islamic based content. But I am focusing specifically on social media networking site Facebook in my project.

My project will include Analysis of the Religious Facebook pages and audience gratification in Pakistan.

Feel free to post any suggestions you have for me; You all are welcome.
